– The Sphinx
Everyone will know the statue of the Sphinx. This statue of the Sphinx has a lion\’s body with a woman\’s head. Earlier, however, these statues were made with the heads of rulers or animals. The sphinx was a symbol of mystery, but also of majesty. The sphinx, or sphinx, can take all these forms. Perhaps the most famous is the Sphinx of Giza. It can be said that the sphinx was used primarily as an architectural ornament.
–Egyptian Gods
This people was no exception. Their religion is very diverse, and the stories of their gods are shrouded in legend. However, the gods changed over time. It was by rulers who had just ascended to the throne. Some gods were forgotten and rediscovered over time, but it was not long before they were forgotten again. One of the most famous gods was the sun god Re. The sun was very important to the Egyptians because it was their source of energy and the source of power for their fields and other activities. Greece was called Heliopolis, the city and center of the city. This was the seat of the priesthood. Another important god was the god of the dead and the afterlife, as well as the god of rebirth and harvest. His name was Osiris. He was depicted as a mummified man, often with a staff and crown on his head. Osiris\’ center and city was Abydos, where he was worshipped along with his sister and wife, Eset, and his son Horus.
The Egyptians worshipped a great variety of gods.
–The construction of the pyramids
was a very long and tedious process. Each time a new ruler or pharaoh came to power, Egyptian citizens had to build him a tomb. Unfortunately for the citizens, the more prominent the ruler, the larger the pyramid built to match. The entire structure was built of huge blocks of sandstone weighing several tons. It is incredible that despite these great obstacles, people were able to carry these blocks so far and build such a great structure as the Pyramid of Cheops (2.58 million m3). 23]- Cleopatra\’s Death
Her death is surrounded by much speculation and conjecture. To this day, no one knows what is true and what is not.
Some believe that Cleopatra was bitten by a snake, specifically an Egyptian cobra. However, this claim has yet to be confirmed or refuted.
A second theory is that she was poisoned by a highly poisonous drink. This drink is said to have been prepared from poisonous herbs and other ingredients, namely hemlock, opium, and salal.
This beautiful woman, depicted with black hair, died after her husband was defeated in battle against the Roman emperor. He took his own life with his own sword after his defeat, but how his wife died may not be known for a long time.
–HIEROGLYPHY
It appears, however, that the Egyptians drew pictures rather than writing, but the opposite is true. These pictographs, called hieroglyphs, were not successfully deciphered until the 19th century. It was a Frenchman named Jean-François Champollion who deciphered them. Perhaps his greatest achievement was the decipherment of the Rosetta Stone, which was discovered by Europeans thanks to Napoleon. Thanks to this discovery, Champollion was able to get to the bottom of the mysterious history of the Egyptian people and bring this information to the world. We can only thank him.
